This is Nikki and Brian’s wedding-slash-POOL PARTY! First the couple and family got ready at their house, then met their guests at Maxwell’s restaurant in Natick for the ceremony, then had some yummy cocktails and food. Nikki’s son gave a “toast” while Brian’s daughter did a roast in the style of her dad’s stand-up routine. Brian is a corporate comedian/unmotivational speaker and he uses the overhead projector to get his inspirational messages across. One question he poses to a roomful of khakis and Blackberries is, “Why Work?” Indeed, why? Such a good question. So in honor of their wedding day, his daughter proposes the question, “Why Marry?” Everyone was crying with laughter (and a few kids with more quizzical looks). The night ended with a pool party in the couple’s backyard. There was a pizza truck and cigars on hand, and if you weren’t dancing on the deck, then you were in the pool. You know you’ve thrown a great party when you look around and all you see are heads thrown back in laughter. I was particular happy to be reunited with event planner Jennifer of Esq. Events. Jen got me one of my first wedding gigs ever. That was nearly 4 years ago (!!), so it was awesome to finally get to work together again. She did an incredible job pulling everything together and making their house look amazing.
