Bella

Meet Bella, the 11 week-old French Bullpuppy who lives in the charming little enclave of Bay Village with her parents, Erika and Mark. Like Logan, Bella is participating in Fat Orange Cat Studio’s Puppy Progress Package, or PPP, to document her stages of growth. I LOVE doing this.

Last weekend was Bella’s first session. The cutest session. The please-don’t-ever-grow-up session.

Bella is: itty bitty | Bella has: a floppy right ear | Bella loves: her stuffed seal | Bella eats: flowers

Seriously, can you stand it?! She is holding a flower, in her puppy MOUTH. Do I really need to break this down any more?

But can someone tell me why must baby eyes be so big and watery? It haunts my dreams.

I know you can’t really see her face, but the photo below is to underscore just how small she is.

      I'm small

I can’t believe she actually sat still for this, even if it was for just two seconds. That’s the thing though: see the shot in your head, and prepare to shoot in advance. I was ready to press the shutter as soon as her parents sat her down and jumped off frame. “HEY BELLA!” I sang and then click click click! She started to get up and walk towards me, but we were done.

I caught Bella’s Very First Jump!

      Bella's first jump

“What I like to do is go BOING.”

There were a lot of gasps before and during the jump, and kissing of little paws after. Protective puppy parents are just as cute as the puppies themselves!

After our romp around Bay Village, we headed to the Boston Public Gardens.

      Bella

Erika had a great idea to photograph Bella with the bronze ducklings. I hadn’t even entertained that idea, mostly because it’s usually swarming with parents taking photos of their children clamoring over the statues, and it seemed getting an open shot would be impossible. Luckily though, we found a moment where we had the ducks all to ourselves. First, Bella had to get a quick hair and makeup touch-up from her small crew of assistants.

      Bella behind the scenes

Our moment alone with the ducklings didn’t last long. Bella made quite a splash. While keeping my eyes glued to the viewfinder and shooting away, I had a pretty clear notion that crowds were forming around us as a chorus of “Aaaaaaaaawww” and “Look at that puppeeeeeee!!” were being squealed all around. But I didn’t stop to see how many people were gathered around. It must have looked a little odd from their perspective. I was practically on my chin with my haunches waving in the air, trying to shoot Bella at eye-level. But not that anyone was stopping to look at my haunches anyway.

Bella was the star and a total scene – and ribbon – stealer!

She is so stinking cute. There’s not much more I can say.

      My favorite photo…

      Bella

Not only is Bella so pretty, but her mama is too. I like how her hair is off to one side, faintly blowing in the breeze…while Bella’s right ear continues to flop backwards, hee!

Ah, puppies. Though I’ll be kind of sad to see her all growing up, I’m excited for the next shoot. If indicators are correct, she’s going to be a sassy one. See you soon, Bella and thanks for being such an A++ model!

OMG, I’m practically speechless! She is soooo adorable! You got so many wonderful shots – with the flower in the mouth, next to the ducklings, on the carpet of flower petals… She’s like a beanie baby, but infinitely cuter!!!

      To fantastic for words!

She’s so much better behaved than Logan! They’re the same age now, but she is so tiny! How cute! Logan is also a big fan of eating flowers, and his muzzle is usually yellow because he likes to keep the dandelion population under control.

I love how Bella looks like she is going to take that little duckling for a walk.

      Are Bella’s parents multicultural, too?

Oh, where did they find that cute stuffed seal? It appears we have to do some major surgery on Logan’s hedgehog. He may not make it.

the belly wrinkle-age in the pic of Bella reaching for a flower is Too Much! trying to balance on her booty, looking so focused on the flower above her…. SO CUTE! :o)

I love the picture of Bella with the flower and Bella in the alley. You must’ve had so much fun on this shoot. Love Love Love

OMG Li! Could you have found a cuter subject? This is by far my favorite of your series. Maybe it’s because I’m a bulldog fanatic (though of the english variety because I’ve had 3 so far) or maybe it’s because he’s a-dork-able! I love it so much! Great captions, all of them. You have really done an excellent job at capturing the bully spirit! & congrats btw on the NY Times! I hope you frame the artical!

AHHH TOO CUTE!!! i love that one with the pink flower in her mouth, and the one of her in the street; SO tiny! you did a great job; puppies are not easy. holy cow i can’t wait for the next session, either.

      OMG – so CUTE!!

OMG, how could you STAND to sit behind the camera on this shoot? I just want to reach out and squeeze that little cutie puppy!!!!

This made me so upset, because I want a FBD puppy SO SO SO BAD and noone will let me get one :( AMAZING shoot.

so much cuteness in such a tiny pacakge!!! I needs it! I wants it! hehe :)

So adorable, love how you capture the moment and also the post work is fab!

LOVE the textures in the second one! and the ones in the blossoms are too cute. great work!

These photos are amazing and beautiful – that pup is a perfect model! I can’t decide on a favorite – love ’em all.

haha quite a few of the comments individuals post are kinda silly, alot of times i contemplate if they in actual fact read the items and items before writing or whether or not they just simply look at the subject of the blog post and publish the first idea that pops into their brain. in any case, it is really good to read keen commentary from time to time instead of the very same, traditional post vomit which i mostly discover on the internet
