My favorite parts of Sarah & Jared’s wedding at Zukas Hilltop Barn in Spencer, MA: Sarah calmly having a glass of wine next to her dress, then, “OMG I’m getting married today!!!” like she just remembered. The First Look she had with her son, who earlier had suddenly exclaimed to Jared while he was helping him button up his shirt, “You’re gonna be my stepdad today!!!” like he just remembered. The ferns. Running around barefoot, clovers squished between toes. A Skype call to a brother overseas, piped over the speakers, that wouldn’t quite connect at first, and then all the crying after it did. Cousins teaching each other how to dance. The father of the groom who followed up with another gin and tonic, after I said yes to the first :) I love these kinds of weddings. Thank you Sarah and Jared for having me to yours.
