About Fat Orange Cat Studio

Hello fellow pet lovers! I am Li Ward, self-taught photographer and natural-born lover of all things four-legged and feline. Fat Orange Cat Studio first began many years ago with a simple point-and-shoot digital camera, two lovely rescue cats named Baxter & VanBuren and my need to document them from every conceivable angle. They were wonderfully photogenic and had personalities to match.
Before I knew it, a few snapshots turned into a few thousand turned into yearly cat calendars, and I would have happily continued along…
…until a friend mentioned one day: You should photograph other people’s pets.
Then a pet owner told me: I want you to photograph my wedding.
Fat Orange Cat Studio by Li Ward is fresh and candid pet – and wedding! – photography, serving Boston MA and beyond.
And yes! I do have a fat orange cat.

Ooooh, I love the site! And, I so love your photographs. How long does it take you to get good shots of a pet? (my dog = mucho uncooperative!) What do you like most about photographing animals?

So, what I want to know is how you get great pictures of cats or dogs that won’t stay still for even a second….cats especially because indoors there usually just isn’t the light to get those fast shutter speeds.

Hello!
What lovely photos :)
Do you take pictures of horses? Do you travel from the Boston area? What are your prices?
Thanks!
