Saturday afternoon visiting the adoption center at the Animal Rescue League of Boston. I was trying to see about volunteering my services, photographing their animals for Petfinder and/or for print. Remind me the next time I go to bring along a giant basket on wheels so I can cart them all home. Luckily, the place was absolutely PACKED with hopeful pet owners, so that was a great sign, considering the current economic conditions and how many of these pets were given up because of it.

I wonder how the boys would feel about a new dachshund friend…?

There’s a great book out called Shelter Dogs, that addresses the same topic.

Personally, if I’d known better, I’d have left all my pets there where I found ’em :-P

(JUST KIDDING. Nobody freak out! Just been a rough morning what with cats puking and knocking shit over and a dog who doesn’t realize she’s not the pack leader)

Those pups look so sweet. I just had an orientation session this morning with the Pennsylvania SPCA to do the same thing. I’m sure that I’ll want to bring all the dogs home as well. Which is why my husband better start volunteering too… somebody needs to be the voice of reason. =)

Li, I love the site! Congratulations – everything really seems to be coming together!

Awww, little cuties! I love the dachshund – those ears!!!

Boxer! Love boxers. I hope he/she finds a good home.

Oh, those faces! The boxer looks soooo sad. I hope that sad face helped convince someone to take him home! The best thing about doing this work is ticking off the dogs off your list once they get adopted. There are always some sad stories about the nice ones who just can’t seem to find a family, but eventually they usually find someone special.

That little dachshund needs a bubble that says, “Pick me! Pick me!”

oh man, look at the ears on that daschund!! too cute – i think you need him!

Oh I think you volunteering as their photographer would be a wonderful gift to them.

The Boxer (“Champ” – great name) was adopted the day after I took these photos. Yay!

Captivating, I passed this on to a crony of mine, and he actually bought me lunch because I found this for him, so let me rephrase: Thanks for lunch.
