Flora & Patrick were married last month in the Dominican Republic. Flora and I first met a dozen years ago (oh my god) when I came in for interview at the company she worked. Neither of us were at the company for too long but we’ve kept in touch off and on over the years, so when she and Pat asked me to photograph their wedding I was honored and thrilled! Who doesn’t love a destination wedding to a sunny locale, especially in the middle of winter?
50 closest friends and family stayed at the Paradisus Palma Real resort in Punta Cana. Flora meticulously put together a thoughtful Welcome Bag for each guest, complete with her own calligraphy and a real FACEBOOK with a bio of each person. She had a bridesman and Pat had a groomsmaid. The bridesmaids/man were dressed in hues of gray with accents of yellow, while the groomsmen/maid were dressed in shades of peach and pink. Not matchy-matchy as a whole but perfectly color-coordinated. But it was really when the groomsmen stripped to their matching skivvies (it happened so fast and 6 pairs of underpants came running at me that what else was I supposed to do but take their picture?!) that I could really appreciate Flora’s attention to detail!
