Kelly and David were married at the Exchange Conference Center in Boston’s Seaport district. The color theme for the day was kelly green. :) Everyone got ready at the couple’s house and their Boston Terrier Fergus was able to get in on a few portraits.  It was a beautiful wedding full of laughing, dancing…and tequila shots!

Jessie & Mike – Wedding at Colt State Park, RI

Wednesday, December 14th, 2011 { Weddings }

Jessie and Mike were married in tiny ceremony on the grounds of Colt State Park. They kept things simple and sweet. Gerber daisy bouquet from the grocery store, holly boutonniere from their holly bush, minimal hair and makeup by a friend, and cowgirl boots. It turned out to be quite a nasty day for an outdoor ceremony as the season’s first Nor’easter came blustering through. Down by the coast in Bristol we didn’t get snow, but cold, needlepoint rain that blew in sideways. Despite the weather, and despite the fact that it cut our shoot time short, I love what we were able to get: real, honest-to-goodness images from a real, honest-to-goodness wedding. Jessie was beautiful, radiating pure happiness and wore her emotions on her sleeve – or her sleeveless, goosebump-y, shivering sleeve. My favorite part was during the ceremony when the officiant had each of them whisper something private into the other’s ear.

We’re meeting up again in May at the Park to resume our portrait session that was so ceremoniously cut short by the weather. The above was the only portrait I was able to get, and the last photo I took of the day. As soon as I pressed the shutter a huge gust of wind blasted through, immediately destroying the umbrellas and soaking everyone to the bone. Brrr!

Maggie and Bill were married early October at the Phillips Exeter Academy Chapel. As a tribute to her late father Maggie sewed a badge from his restaurant’s uniform into the folds of her wedding dress. The couple’s black Labrador Magoo served as ring bearer and delivered the goods in a little Tiffany pouch hanging from his collar. He was nervous! Afraid of tripping down the aisle and whatnot. Magoo appeared in print too, from the invitations to the programs to the table cards. Reception followed at the Exeter Inn in Exeter, New Hampshire. It was a wonderful day full of happy tears and laughter!
