Hooray for winter weddings! Another hooray for teeny tiny weddings! I had a wonderful time hanging out with Kate & Phil and their immediate family as they gathered for an intimate ceremony inside Back Bay’s Ames-Webster Mansion. Kate’s dress is by J.Crew, lipstick by Tarte, and her bouquet is courtesy of that little flower stand next to the Back Bay Station. Heh. We started at the Lenox Hotel and then everyone walked together to the house. The wedding party was so small and the mansion was so enormous (and on sale for $18 million!!) that we were all able to fit comfortably in the staircase landing, where the ceremony was performed. Cocktails, toasts, and dinner afterwards at Gaslight Brasserie in the South End. Kate & Phil then jetted off to Paris and were married again in an even more intimate and romantic ceremony. Just the two of them. This was all a far cry from their original plan of a large Boston hotel wedding in the summer. Smaller and simpler suited them to a T. Congrats to you both!

I am looking forward to sharing the rest of this little wedding in a big house, which is on the market for $18,000,000. Down from $23,000,000. Get it before it’s gone! (and let me live with you please)

Raaaaaaaw!

I spent a warm fall afternoon with Flora and Pat and we got engaged all over the place. We started in the South End (they were officially engaged at Hamersley’s Bistro), moved to Beacon Hill, and finally to Darwin’s in Harvard Square where they had their very first date. We tried to recreate the moment. I believe it was overall quite successful.

Our next stop: the Dominican Republic!!! Waaweewoo!

P.S. Just a couple here are digital, but for the majority I used my NEW (used) medium-format film camera for the first time. Previously used here on rental. I bought the Mamiya 645 afd ii on eBay from someone in London, and I think he must have stored it in his laundry closet. All through the shoot I was smelling soap. It wasn’t quite American detergent, but detergent nonetheless. It was nice.

Yay Rudy! This handsome fellow is 13 years old but looks as if he were just born yesterday. We spent a summer’s evening taking a stroll through the lovely South End with stops at my own favorite spots, like next to the pretty wrought-iron curlicues on Union Park and along the vegetable plots in the Community Garden.
