Recently I had the pleasure of photographing Bailey and Max’s intimate wedding, which was held in the backyard of their Cambridge, MA home. I loved every single thing about this simple, elegant affair – the beautiful bride and groom and their whole family who made me feel so welcome, the meticulously strung lights, the quilted huppa cover, squares of which were made by friends and family and then sewn together by a close friend, the tablescape, the food, the CAKE (oh my goodness the cake), and all the laughing. It was a feast for the eyes, the belly and the soul!

Max and Bailey both got ready at home but managed to keep out of one another’s path. Then Bailey rounded the corner of the house and walked down the aisle, and once she laid eyes on Max she didn’t stop crying until the ceremony was over.

After the ceremony, the newlyweds went for a little walk to spend their first moments as husband and wife…alone. No photogs allowed, it was that kind of alone. :) So in the meantime, the huppa came down and the table settings for dinner went up.
Au Soleil did the catering, and not only took care of the food and cake but the tablescapes as well. This included the tables, chairs, linens, glassware and utensils and flowers. The chef took over their kitchen and from there churned out a fancy 3 course French dinner.

Yes, it was very difficult to put the camera down. More magical backyard weddings on perfect summer evenings, please!
The party continued with a larger reception at Oleana Restaurant the next day. Stay tuned…
