Plato the Havanese

July 15th, 2010

Meet Plato, the cutest 7 month-old puppy I’ve ever photographed. He’s a Havanese. I met him and his owner at their home Medford, MA, a town where Dan and I bought our first place :) This shoot included Putting the Dog on Top of Things, which while not entirely candid, does add some variety to the portfolio and can really turn out well. So aside from running around and noshing on Greenies and Bully Sticks, Plato got to lounge in a hammock! And sit on the back of a flat-bed truck!

Behind the Scenes

Relaxing on the hammock. Just so you know, I would never myself suggest placing your pet aloft because I don’t know if he’ll sit calmly or freak out and break a leg in the process! But if you the owner want to try something and know your dog will be up for it, then I am too.

Plato, Behind the Scenes

Plato plays up his good side and tosses his tresses back.

P.S. These photos were taken with the 24-70mm lens, except for the indoor shots which were taken with the 50mm.
Edited to add: 24-70mm f/2.8 and 50mm f/1.4 Nikon lenses

A whole page of these gorgeous photos deserves better than a dumb spam response in your comments. The bully stick photo made me laugh out loud! Thanks for sharing! :)

  2. Simon Says:

Li which 50mm are you using? I can’t get flare as good as that on my Sigma. Nice set.

I was suspecting that inside photos where done with 50 mm…

Oh what a beautiful dog. Plato obviously enjoyed the attention, LOL. Loving your photos as always, they never fail to put such a smile on my face.

Re the 50mm, you can’t get any better than the cheap-o “nifty 50″ from Canon. It’s less than $100 and SO well made. It’s the 50mm f/1.8

I’ll moider da bum. Heavyweight boxer Tony Galento, when asked what he thought of William Shakespeare-

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.
